GO SANDY!

She labored most of the night, but when we check with her early in the morning today the count was nine puppies. I had to count them four times to be sure! The ALL look really healthy and, so far, Sandy is proving to be a really really good mom. We'll keep them in the pantry for a few days but they will eventually live in their own kennel in the yard. The kids are excited, but they can't play with the pups yet so the interest is limited. Her New Kennel

If you snooze you DON'T loose

My dream lifestyle is finally validated!

"Researchers at the Harvard School of Public Health and the University of Athens Medical School have just released findings from a large study that shows how mid-day napping reduces one's chance of coronary mortality by more than a third. So go ahead and nap—a short daily snooze might ward off a heart attack later in life."

Bond...James Bond...stirred, not shaken...

So a very strange thing happen at our house on Sunday, here a bit of the police report:

A Kenyan of Ukrainian origin, Mr. Vladimir [XXXXXXXX ] was spotted by the secuity officer photographing the residence of the CDC Director Kisumu... The KK security tried to stop him but he defied and drove off towards Kakamega direction... With the help of the traffic police, he was intercepted. At the Kisumu Police station, the following was established:
That he hails from Eldoret.
That he is a Medical Doctor
That in Kisumu he was a guest of a neighbor and landlord to Dr. Laserson.
That he thought the gate belonged to the landlord's house.
That he admired the gate design thus photographed it.
The police released him after deleting the photograph from the camera.

Now folks, our gate is NOT one that anybody would really be interested in photographing, it's pretty boring design. Really not quite sure what to make of this, but I'm not making it up!

Mama Sandy

Sandy is definitely pregnant. She’s 30 days into her pregnancy with 30 days to go. She gotten much more clingy with me. We have been allowing her into the house for short periods now and she pretty much stays with me were ever I go in the house. Eats like a little horse too.
Had the local vet over today to check her out, he seems to think she is fine. Plus he gave her some vaccination boosters. He also said to expect from 6 to 9 puppies! Holly cow! It’s gonna be busy and noisy around here! I went with Reuben (our gardener) and the Yobesh (dog trainer) to find someone to build a kennel, then we’ll build a fenced area around it, should have it buy next Thurday, so I’m told
