Just another day in paradise. Having a gin and tonic while watching the sunset over Lake Victoria.
Just some quick updates on the week:
- We are still undecided about where we are going to move. Looked at another house. This one enormous and new and expensive. Doubtful we’ll move there but who knows…
We now are hearing that the funeral for Pamellah’s son will be this Saturday. We are actually planning on being away this weekend so it is doubtful we will go to the funeral… - Work is about the same otherwise…
- Kids started back to school. Max is in year 1 here. He, and we are having a bit of difficulty adjusting to his new schedule. He goes to school all day now, til 4pm AND has some sort of homework every night, it’s very easy stuff but it’s every night nevertheless. The don’t really ‘play’ anymore, he’s in real school now. He’s exhausted everyday but says he’s liking it. I donno, is this a good thing? We’re monitoring… Esther is now in a new class as well. They are learning to draw letters and beginning to sound out letters.

We're having a hard time adjusting to half day kindergarden! I keep thinking that if we'd have stayed in GA we still would have had this last year at Clifton with our kids as babies!
They've got McKay in a combined K/Gr1 class, but he only stays til noon. (Well 11:34 or something like that). I think the excitement/anxiety/stress has been building up since he's fallen asleep in the car every day on the way home. No homework per say, but they do have to bring a book home to "read" each night.So far his favourite part? Gym. No surprise there huh?

Yeah, McKay goes from 8:44 to 11:30. (with a 10 minute recess). They also offer a "full day" Kindergarten, but I didn't think it would have enough "dynamic options". (play time)
But you're right...I think keeping Max in school is probably better than keeping him home. It's all about aquiring the social skills at this age anyhow. But they sure do seem to be expecting a lot from your sweet boy!
