We have just been told that the guy who ownes the house we are living in wants to build condos on the property. He wants to break the lease and is asking us to leave by Sept 30. The Embassy is trying to push it back to end of October. Kayla and I are a bit depressed about it. We have THE best house and THE best location. There aren't that many houses like this available. We'll see how it goes. sigh....
The guys who ownes this house is a bit of a sleeze anyway and frankly I think he's just ticked off at Americans anyway; want us out. He is asking another American family living in one of his houses to do the same.
We heard there was a house available down the street, which would be nice, but we're told because it has a pool we can't rent it, seems only the ambassador can have a pool, give me a break! Well, I don't plan on sitting back and letting the embassy folks find a house with out our involvement! Stay tuned........

Oh well - you knew there would be hassles.Just take it in stride, Dude. But I would deffinitely pitch in and 'help' find the new place or else you may find yourself living in that little 8x12 'hotel' you took a picture of about a year ago! I don't suppose these poeple are pissed at Americans when the checks come, are they? Or is it simply a case of selective pissed? Or pissed selectivity?
Tony 'yes, I said that' Klatt
Hopefully he can be persuaded to change his mind... I don't suppose warm cookies would work better go for "spirits." Sorry to hear that a move is in store for the family.
Good to see all of you in Chicago in June. Much love, Judy and Larry
